Come and Get It!

Last Monday (12/03), I sent an email to Keystone Pacific notifying them that all of the exterior lights on building 9 (facing Santa Ana Boulevard) have not been turning on when the sun goes down. Here is the response I received that same day:

"Thank you for the update on the lights. I’m sorry this is still outstanding. My Associate is on the phone with Sundown Lighting right now."

Thankfully, none of the windows have been etched while that building sits in the dark as a prime target, but we still have to make it through Sunday night, a popular night for graffiti in Santa Ana.

In my opinion, should something happen to this building before these lights are fixed, the homeowners shouldn’t be the ones responsible for the costs. I will be placing a call into Keystone tomorrow morning to once again address this issue.

Lighting Issue Response sucks. I emailed a laundry list of lighting to get repaired by either KP or Lennar and none of it has been addressed. Last night, was the worst there was even more fixtures out than ever. We need to agree get a commitment from KP as to the turn around time on issues like this.

The timers are all screwed up as well, the lights that light up the drive off of N Santiago come on at 6 and then turn off at 10pm. Called it about 2 weeks ago, nothing. Better yet, I called in two street lights into Edison at the same times and they were fixed within 24 hrs. what the crap? We're wasting our money with these people.

We just came back from our nightly walk with the doggies. The building mentioned is still in the dark. So is building 14 (the red one facing Civic Center Drive). And the 3 lights on the side wall between units 3 & 4 of Building 13 (facing N Santiago Street) are off! As a matter of fact, I have *never* seen them on since we moved here.

Maybe if Keystone Pacific did a better job, my next door neighbors in Unit 4 would had been spared one more tagging on 3 panes of their glass roll-up windows. My husband was coming back from his run early in the morning this past friday and cleaned it up before they arrived for work so not to attract more taggers. I haven't seem my neighbors yet since this happened and I don't think they are aware... Not the nicest words these pricks wrote on the glass of their unit either...

Hope you guys had a great weekend despite all the lighting + tagging issues...

Lighting here has always been an issue. When a unit isn't lit well enough, the graffiti is soon to follow.

Keystone/SunDown doesn't replace the exterior lights fast enough. That may be fine in Irvine, but not this city.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with them as our association and their non-showing landscaping crew Villa Park until the entire development is completed.

CJ, very awesome of your husband to clean up the graffiti.

During the police meeting, the officers advised us to photograph any damaging graffiti that could be used as evidence against the suspects or their tagging crew.

So, Ben, are you calling on Monday? I'll call to back up, but all in all, this is BS. Seriously, if anyone gets hit during this I firmly believe we (or whomever is hit) would have some strong support to make Keystone foot the bill.

UrbanMessiah, I will be placing a call in with Kim Dean/Keystone Pacific tomorrow morning reminding her about our lighting issue.

Later tonight when I take a work-break, I'll walk around and write down a complete list of lights that are not working/need replacing.

Thank you, I'd appreciate the back-up call.

When we moved in after a couple of weeks I noticed that none of our exterior lights were on, then I recalled, that I had never seen them on. I actually called TIM. That next day he had checked it out and found that it was an electrical problem, there was a short or something. This was on the red building on N Santiago St. It's possible that if the whole building's lights are out it could be a similar issue, and you should call LENNAR and not Keystone, cause LENNAR actually has people around during the day that can fix stuff.

True. But once homeowners move in, the exterior lights become the association's responsibility.

Lennar can/will only do so much for you before they say call Keystone.

Trust me. I've been down that road already.

I called and left a message for Kim on Friday. On Saturday I called the emergency line, letting them know that it wasn't a true emergency but a heads up for tagging issues we have with unlit units. I got a call from Keystone on Monday acknowledging there are numerous lighting problems that they are working on. Maybe soon they'll get tired of our calls and get the problems resolved.
